Acrylic reception is something different, though it also needs the shaped MDF as base, it is a stone-like material and easy to reshape under high-heat. It can make a smooth rounded shape or reshape without MDF base. Besides, acrylic is stronger than the lacquer paint material, more durable and anti-scratching.
